Set at ‘Vampcon’ – an event exclusively for vampires – the main character says: “I’ll have one of those meaty burgers please.”
When the surver replies: “They’re meat-free, actually,” the entire cast -shocked – confesses: “Whoops, I’m a bit veggie,” as they continue to eat the plant-based product.
Birds Eye has also taken to Instagram to promote its plant-based range, particularly its new vegan burgers, which are made primarily from pea-protein.
“WARNING! Our delicious NEW Green Cuisine Meat-Free Burgers are ready to make an accidental veggie out of you. #WhoopsImaBitVeggie,” the brand said.
The food giant launched its Green Cuisine line back in March – debuting vegan sausages, burgers, and Swedish style meatballs at the UK retailer, Asda.
Birds Eye’s marketing director, Steve Challouma, told The Grocer: “This is a major strategic launch into an increasingly important and fast-growing segment within the plant-based foods space.
“We have successfully been able to recreate the taste and texture of popular meat products, helping families reduce their meat consumption through healthy options without compromising on flavor.”
